Black Jack Justice is a full-cast audio drama series, written and performed in the style of the classic adventure broadcasts from the golden age of radio. Black Jack Justice was written and directed by creator Gregg Taylor, adapted from the “play-within-a-play” content of his one-act stage play of the same title. The series, set in the late 1940s – mid 1950s, is set in an unnamed Great American City, and tells the story of supposedly hard-as-nails private detective Jack Justice and his partner in crime-fighting, Trixie Dixon, girl detective, who work well together in spite of not liking each other very much at all. In the style of the period in which the story is set, there is a good deal of first person narration from both detectives, which is frequently contradictory in nature. The series was recorded in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario between 2005 - 2016 and was released through the Decoder Ring Theatre podcast. The characters were also featured in two novels, Black Jack Justice and Black Jack Justice: Dead Men Run. The series is made available here with the permission of the author, who retains ownership.

Subject: BEDTIME 'READING'.
The rest is history. And like history their stories are also filled to burst with to the point and straight shooting conversation, lies and truths, unlikely twists and turns, nasty villans and angelic clients, beautiful cups of coffee, creaky cars, a lot of lovin' and even a marriage (II won't tell who married who).
You won't fall asleep in a hurry, but you will have a good time trying!

They have evolved in many directions over the years. Black Jack Justice is my favorite ... Decoder Ring Theater series.
The banter between Jack and Trixi, is so believable you think they must be married. Their not in the series or in real life, they have a true love, hate relationship. This series is a detective series, each episode has a mystery that is solved. That and the relation between the two leads makes a very good series to listen to, the support cast is definitely on par with the leads. They both have their own addictions (very different) that run through the series. Greg Taylor over the years done a wonderful job of developing their characters over the years. He also matured and mellowed one of the characters. Not maturing or mellowing the other was pure genius, as it would have totally changed the series and not for the better.
